The Importance of Prepared-ness

We pride ourselves on being able to provide sound practical advice on the outdoors to our fellow members who have chosen to pack their bags with us in our various adventures. Many of us have not ventured into a jungle previously nor trek to a high mountain before. To be caught out in the open in an under-prepared state is not something any one of us would enjoy.

On our travels, we have seen other groups on the trails who were less than prepared for their outings. Being novice trekkers, few of them understood the importance of being well out-fitted for their trip. It's sad to see them retreating from their trek objectives with chins touching their chests, especially when they have spent great amount of time, effort and money getting to where they were. A few hours and dollars extra spent prior to departure could have made a great difference to what could have been an enjoyable trip of a lifetime.

As active outdoor persons, we understand how unforgiving the elements could be and having 'being there' previously, we are in a good position to advise & prepare our members well for what's ahead. It is important that we do more than just organising a trip and packing off our members for an adventure; it is our mission to ensure that they are in the best prepared shape of their life. We are glad that most of them now understand the need to have the right gear at the right moment at the right place. One can say that our sucess is underscored by the fact that quite a number of our trip members are now firm converts to 'synthetics' and no longer puzzled by terms such as 'Gore-Tex'. We are also greatly comforted by the high success rate our members have had in achieving their trek objectives. This section is a primer on the lessons we have learnt from our many ventures into the great outdoors and tips gleamed from various outdoors books and websites ... we hope you'll learn well from them just as much as we have ourselves.

Well-preparedness is the key to achieving your outdoors success
